Large deviations for first-order scalar conservation laws with stochastic forcing

A talk in the Bielefeld Stochastic Afternoon series by
Rangrang Zhang from Beijing Institute of Technology

Abstract: Due to the lack of the viscous terms, the kinetic solution to the Cauchy problem for first-order scalar conservation laws is studied. Based on global well-posedness of the kinetic solution and a modified weak convergence approach, we show that Freidlin-Wentzell type large deviation principles hold for the scalar conservation laws perturbed by small multiplicative noise. Moreover, with the aid of exponentially equivalence, a small time large deviations is also established.
