In this talk I will try to explain how to describe universal nonlinear large scale fluctuations of certain random fields using stochastic partial differential equations. The universal character of these fluctuations goes along with the fact that the equations are not well posed classically and that require certain renormalisations to give a meaning to the non-linear terms.
