Conserved energies for the one-dimensional Gross-Pitaevskii equation

Abstract: In this talk I will establish a family of conserved energies for the one dimensional Gross-Pitaevskii equation, which is simply the defocusing cubic nonlinear Schroedinger equation but with nonzero boundary condition at infinity. The formulation of the conserved energies relies on the detailed analysis of the invariant transmission coefficient, which is associated to the Lax operator of the GP equation. This is a joint work with Herbert Koch.
