A trace formula for stationary spacetimes

A talk in the Oberseminar Analysis series by
Alexander Strohmaier

Abstract: The Gutzwiller-Duistermaat-Guillemin trace formula is an important formula in spectral geometry. It relates the spectrum of the Laplace operator to the non-local geometry of the underlying manifold. I will explain a generalisation of this formula to the more general and relativistic setting of stationary spacetimes. The underlying classical geometry turns out to be the symplectic manifold of (scaled) null-geodesics. (Joint work with S. Zelditch)
