Random Substitutions in higher dimensions
A talk in the Mathematik in den Naturwissenschaften series by

| Abstract: |
We present a generalization of random substitutions to
higher dimensions. In particular, we define a randmom version of the
rectangular-preserving substitutions and digit substitutions. We then
discuss the associated subshifts with these random substitutions and
present some dynamical properties of these systems by generalizing
previous results on one-dimensional random substitutions. Moreover,
we talk about the existence of peridodic points in the subshifts
associated with rectangular-preserving random substitutions.
