A variational approach to phase separation and homogenization
A talk in the Other series by
Lorenza D'Elia from TU Vienna
Abstract: |
In this talk, we will review some classical results about
Modica-Mortola (or also known as Cahn-Hilliard) functional. All these
results adopt a variational approach. The key tool of such an approach
is the so-called Gamma-convergence, whose definition and main
properties will be recalled during the talk. Then, I will present
some recent results concerning the interplay between phase separation
and (periodic) homogenization. Within the CRC this talk is associated to the project(s): A6 |
