Anna has been a PhD student in the BiGSEM/ CUDE Finance profile at Bielefeld University's Center for Mathematical Economics (IMW) since October 2024. Her research focuses on stochastic control and mean-field games. She will be succeeding Anna Hager in her role within the YWTS network coordination team.
Before moving to Bielefeld, Anna studied Mathematics at the University of Milan (Italy), where she also served as a student representative, and thus gained valuable experience in supporting her peers. Having experienced the positive impact of the YWTS Network firsthand—thanks to the warm welcome she received as an international student in Bielefeld—she is now dedicated to maintaining the network's momentum, promoting gender equality, and contributing to a more inclusive research environment.

Lea is in the last year of her physics bachelor at Bielefeld University, focusing on cosmology. She wants to continue with a Master’s degree in that same field. In February 2023, Lea quit her job as a waitress after 10 years and is now a student assistant in the Young Women in Theoretical Sciences Network. Here, she develops and implements ideas for better communication, guides through meetings and events, and strengthens the reach of YWTS to the Physics department as well as to (Bachelor) students. Previously, she has gained experiences in supporting women as a volunteer for Die Astronautin, a startup with the purpose to send the first German women to the ISS. Lea’s main focus there was to manage their social media accounts.
