Meetings & Events

YWTS offers several Network events each semester. These events can, e.g., be a voice training, a workshop on what qualities one acquires during a PhD, or a research talk on gender equality. To get to know each other better and exchange experiences and ideas within the Network, YWTS has established some informal meeting series. There is a monthly Network Lunch, a Coffee Break for Female Mathematicians that is co-organized with professors Claudia Alfes and Ana Botero, a recurring lunch for women at IMW initiated by professor Maren Schmeck, and a Meet & Greet series where female seminar speakers or research visitors talk about their personal experiences. We are happy to hear your suggestions who we should invite or what kind of events you would like to attend!

• Girls’ Day.
• ⁠Women in Mathematics Exhibition - Bielefeld Edition!
• Events on the occasion of the Mathematics Gender Guest Professorship, together with the Mathematics equity office.
• Excursion to the NIXDORF museum in Paderborn. Heinz Nixdorf is a computer pioneer who collected over 1,000 historical objects to show the story of computing to people in a museum.
