Project A6: Random versus deterministic dynamical systems with aperiodic long-range order

Summary:

This project aims at contributions to a classification of spatial dynamical systems with coexistence of long-range aperiodic order and structural disorder of positive entropy. Our approach will employ spectral methods from harmonic analysis and dynamical systems theory, based on their connection via general Eberlein decompositions. Systems to be investigated will include random inflation rules, random tilings and point processes with Delone-type realizations.
